A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

Way too much.

We’ve decided that with all of our bills we are spending way too much money!

We spend about 10-20% of Margot’s salary on insurance! That includes home, life, car, and health insurance.

Of course, if I had the extra time I’d go around and get an online auto insurance quote. However, time is precious and I’ve learned that when Emmy naps…I try to read my library books or sleep myself!

Let the weekend begin!

Yesterday Margot asked what day it was and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out if it was Monday or Thursday!

Now that’s bad…

I then figured out that Margot had been to work the day before and concluded that it was Thursday!!

This weekend we’re going to a local geocaching event at the local state park. They are going to have new geocaches so that we could be the “first to find” and also many older geocaches planted throughout the park.

If only we had some good tactical gear to wear while finding treasures! That would guarantee that we would find all of the treasures and not get frustrated with going to a sight only to be frustrated and without treasure or the find!

We’ve found the trick…

to getting some uninterrupted sleep!

Last night I nursed Emmy to bed. She fell asleep in our bed while we were watching the olympics. I then transferred her to her crib - which is stationed in our bedroom.

Margot heard Emmy crying at midnight or so and brought her back to bed. Then at 2:30am I got up to go to the bathroom. I woke up to a sleeping mommy and Emmy in her arms.

I made sure that Margot wasn’t suffocating Emmy and Emmy wasn’t under the blanket and sure enough..she was fine.

At 4:30am I woke up with my boobs about to pop! Emmy was just started to move a little bit. I stuck a boob in her mouth and sure enough she had her breakfast in bed!

This was the best night by far. She slept a good 6 1/2 hours without waking up and I’ve learned to nurse in the dark!

A good night’s sleep might be in our near future!!

Our Philly weekend

was amazing! We had such a great time and it was wonderful to see the group of women that I have grown so attached to.

Over the years these women have been like sisters to me and it was so happy to celebrate our new families together.

Here is a picture of the girls:

Now for the “million dollar babies”!

Just a few seconds later…

Thank you, Aunt Linda!

I had a pleasant surprise last week when I came home. A baby gift for Little Emmy from my Aunt Linda. Enclosed was a precious bunny dress, pink robeez, and a beautiful silver bracelet.

Thanks so much!

Our little bunny loves her new outfit!
