Each day Margot looks at her portfolio. Some days I hear a “yahoo” while she sits at the computer and brings up our accounts. Other times I hear profanities! Lately, it’s been the latter.

We are constantly looking for new things to invest our money in. We thought about doing a rental house, but quite honestly, we are not sure we want to deal with tenants in the wee hours of the morning complaining about no heat!

Our friend, L, swears by precious metals. At one point they were at an all time low and they have since gone through the roof the past few months. It’s still a good time to buy gold coins because I am pretty sure they haven’t reached their peak yet. Plus, I think we are probably on the upswing of the recession.

Instead of having gold stored in the house - we would probably be more interested in a gold IRA. Margot gets her SEP contribution in a few weeks and has to figure out what investments she wants to take part in.

I am sure when we get ready to retire - there’s going to be no such thing. Already, we’re pushing the mark and many of the people that I know who reach the age tend to pass away shortly after they retire.

That’s why when I go back to work we are really going to start saving like crazy for our retirement. God knows there is not going to be social security money available and even there was it would only be pennies a month!

Then there’s the thousands of dollars a month that we would have to spend on health insurance…

Hopefully.

The plan is that we’ll have the needed paperwork from our redneck neighbors and be able to close on our old house and our new house!

We’ve schedule movers for next Friday and they’ll move us out of the old house from 9-12. At noon we’ll go sell our house. At one we’ll go to our second closing and buy our new house.

The whole time the movers will be at the new house taking a lunch break and then HOPEFULLY, we’ll be able to unpack and find enough of our things to sleep at Kay St!

Pretty excited and hope that this is really going to come together…

I went to court and got it reduced to a 38 in a 25 and I have to pay $185 and it’s 4 points on my driver’s license. I was told that I can take the defensive driving class and get it taken off of my record all together.

While I don’t know what it’s going to do to my insurance rates I think I might start looking for low cost car insurance. I’m tired of paying way too much for insurance and with my schedule opening up I figure I can really take the time needed to look around!

Plus, her performance wasn’t *bad* - just boring.

Have I mentioned that Crystal is absolutely incredible? OH YES I HAVE. I called it from day one, bitches.

Tonight the boys I think will be voted off are Todrick and Aaron Kelly. Todrick had a horrible song and was so pitchy. Aaron was absolutely horrible and his singing really hurt my ears.

As much as I love watching AI…with these two singers I wanted to shut my television off. Yes, it was that bad.

I think that Katie and Paige will be leaving when it comes to the girls. Katie is way too young and acts like she’s older than me. She’s been hanging around her grandma way too long and acts like she’s in her mid 40s. I thought Paige was decent…but her last performance was not so good.

We’ll see!

We are baby gear junkies.

There, I said it.

As much as I wanted to love baby slings and we had two different ones - I just didn’t feel like the baby was safe. I constantly felt myself holding it and with a bad back it didn’t offer support when the baby got bigger.

Margot loved the sling and used it when she was cooking.

We had the Baby Bjorn Active which was the perfect sling when Graem and Emmy were tiny babies. We used to put them in the Bjorn and walk around for HOURS without even realizing that we had a baby strapped to us. PLUS, the baby loved feeling us move and would stay asleep.

When Emmy got a bit bigger we tried the Ergo Carrier. So many people love the Ergo and I liked it when Emmy was between 6 months and 12 months. She soon learned how to walk and with that….she gained independence.

That got me into a lot of trouble since I had to have the $250 new Maclaren stroller and we hardly ever use it. Eek.

Maybe we’ll be able to use it for daughter #3.

Just joking.

Of course I have to buy the full version if I want to put up photos.

When we get settled in our new house and I have a little extra time I’m going to look everywhere for better deals on our insurance!

We’re going to be in a new house, new area, and we’re going to have more options as far as childcare for Emmy. We went back and forth on the best setting and I think we’ve agreed that she will do really well in a Montessori environment.

Of course, that would mean two drop-offs and two pick-ups since Graem’s school doesn’t accept kids under three.

I’m sure it’s going to be worth it though!
