A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

Toner.

We use tons of printer toner at home.   At one point we used to print everything in color and even print our photos through our little HP printer.    It became way too expensive and we’ve since tried to cut back.

I couldn’t believe the other day when Margot told me how much the printer toners are for her work printers.   They have a few commercial printers and a big color drafting printer.

They also have a few Colour Laser Printers that do a great job but because the cost of toner is so expensive it almost makes sense to have them printed at the local printer shop.   Of course, we all know that isn’t always the easiest route to take and despite the cost many times it’s just easier to print the copies in house.

Ameiva Printers and Accessories is located in the United Kingdom, however, I looked at their prices and they are a fraction of the costs that we are currently spending.   Even after shipping it to the United States…I’d still get a better deal through them.

They offer an easy to use website where you can purchase printers, toners, and accessories.   In fact they offer all of the big brands and even the hard to find brands such as:   Brother, Canon, Epson, HP, Konica, Minolta, Kyocera, Lexmark, OKI, Xerox, Samsung, TallyGenicom and Xante.

Our HP colour printer has really impressed us over the years and we’re shocked that year after year it has never failed us as long as we keep purchasing the toner for it!

Ameiva also offers a Printer Finder option that helps you find the perfect printer for your printing needs whether it be personal or professional.

If you’re looking for the perfect printer for your home or office you should go to the professionals.   With Ameiva you can check them out online or even give them a call and a specially trained customer service representative will help you.

Who would have guessed…

that I could make enough money and work at home!    Well, not exactly.    It’s been nice to have the blogging as a side kick.   However, with Graem’s tuition for school going from $375 to $950 I’ve really got to put in some extra hours subbing!

Not to mention, with the possible entrance of a new baby in the spring we want to have enough savings so that Margot can take off a few months.

So professional!

I remember going to trade shows and career fairs and only having a dish of candy, a banner, and some pretty crappy mugs to give out to represent my company!   Most of the time people would come up to me and ask “What do you do?”

Then of course, I’d have to give a three minute lecture to what business we were in - three hundred times!

It would have been nice to have a set of trade show booths that could have been shared by all of the local companies.    Not only are they professional but you can put all of the information out there for everyone see.

Not to mention, first impressions are everything.   When you have a multi-million dollar business and you’re giving away coffee mugs and candy and people have still no idea what you do….you should probably re-evaluate what’s working!

The Godfrey Group specializes in getting the word out and presenting your company in the most professional way possible.   They have many different trade show displays to choose from and know how to help your organization with portraying a positive image.

A day of rest…er I mean work.

Lately, every morning that Margot has been waking up Graem decides it’s time for her to wake up too.   This of course, sucks for me because in the past I’ve been used to waking up late with Graem.

PLUS, a few hours after waking up Graem is exhausted and becomes a bad baby.

So this morning at 6:30am when Margot tried to slide out of bed Graem was right there with her.   To say the least this whole “sleeping in mom’s bed” isn’t working.

For any of us.

So tonight Graem is going to sleep in her big girl bed and hopefully it won’t be too bad of a fight.

In other news, since Graem was up and Margot was up - Margot decided to drop Graem off at school today.   Which means I’m in charge of laundry, house, and doing a little grocery shopping.

Oh yeah, plus blogging and sending over 2 1/2 years of photos to Snapfish!

Either way, it’s nice to be able to kick back and get things done!

Looking for a new job?

When I was in college I was constantly being recruited.   Of course, I would send out hundreds of resumes online to all of the top corporations in hope that someone would want me!

Many times I would land the first phone interview, get more details, realize it was located in Idaho, or only paid $25,000/year and not be interested.

Some of the big companies actually go through recruiting firms instead of having their own human resources department interview potential candidates.   The recruiters that I worked with were pretty good and actually seemed to have both my interests and the interests of their clients valued equally.   They worked on trying to find the perfect fit.

A.E. Feldman Associates, Inc offers recruiting services for financial and risk management services, legal and legal support services, communications and technology, human resources consulting, and luxury products.   You can even check out their Executive Recruiting Firm Blog.
