I can’t believe that Iowa ruled in favor of gay marriage:

What the heck is taking New York so long? Do we need to be in the Midwest? Or more formally part of conservative New England?? I just don’t understand.

Tonight I decided to open up a box for our dinner. I had purchased a Banquet - biscuit, chicken, and mashed potato dinner a few weeks ago and it’s been sitting on our counter.
It was relatively easy to put together and I popped it into the oven for 30 minutes.
The damn thing was so salty we could barely eat it.
Of course, after the meal I had to call banquet and those bastards and sending me a coupon for the exact same thing.
Gee, thanks.
Just what I wanted. Heartattack in a box.

I don’t know if it’s the heat, or the drippy throat…or the sweaty kid clinging to me–but I can’t sleep again. Good thing I don’t have to drive to the two out-of-town meetings tomorrow.
The poor kid slept til 5:45 when I got home. She was in a surprisingly decent mood, given her lung misery. I am really bummed that she inherited my awful lungs–if there were any way I could have prevented her from at least one of the nerd curses (braces, headgear, and glasses being the unavoidable others), I would have. I guess I will have to keep her from Scotch-taping her glasses, in exchange for the inhaler.
Bailey was similarly zonked out from her dental cleaning. We still haven’t checked the right side of her mouth to see if any teeth had to be pulled–the left side looks intact, so I guess that’s good news. I can’t believe our pup is 7 years old next month (yes, I have to share my birthday with the dog. It’s more efficient that way…) Her total bill came to $140, which is more than I paid for my last cleaning AND x-rays, but I guess I didn’t get a bordatella shot to go with it.
Anyway…since I’m all caught up with my blog feeds… and there isn’t much geocaching in my near future… I guess I’ll go squeeze in between the dog and the kid and try to get some sleep.

We finally ended up getting the tires for the Toyota Matrix. We got them online through TireRack.com and they were the good tires (Yokohama) that we’ve used a few times in the past with the Honda.
Yesterday, I called to see how much the tires were going to cost to put them on the car and I was told $65.00. Not too bad.
We dropped the car off yesterday and I just got a call that the new tires need to be aligned or else they will wear out like the old ones in a matter of months. Of course, that’s an extra $69.99.
AUGH.
I hate spending money on cars. Especially, since it’s under three years old and only has 20,000 or so miles!
Isn’t it enough that we have to pay for a car payment? Why can’t that just include everything!

So you wouldn’t believe this… As you know, we’ve been trying to close our home equity line of credit with Wells Fargo for over a year now. Anyway, I finally got through to someone last week who said all we needed to do was fax/mail a letter requesting the closure, along with a check for $31.50 for the reconveyance fee.
I put together all of the above, and brought said letter in to work to fax. The fax number they gave me was a voice line!!! I was absolutely livid because I reconfirmed the number twice with “Nina,” the account closure specialist, who was totally matter-of-fact as she gave me the number.
So I just tried to call again this morning (yes, at 7:30AM–that’s supposedly the one thing you get with huge corporations, round-the-clock service), and the recorded message stated that the company was undergoing a fire protection drill!!! At 7:30AM on a Monday morning?? It sounds like someone at Environmental Health is trying to cover up a little weekend teetotaling…
Another reason that Wells Fargo sucks.
