A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

A new love of STUFF

After a few recent outings to geocache with coworkers to relieve stress at lunch, I have renewed my penchant for gadgetry. I now want a handheld GPS–I think I want the Magellan eXplorist 210.  It looks like it got good reviews, has a USB port and decent onboard memory.  Then I want to be able to use my PDA for paperless caching, which I might as well do since it’s kind of gotten backburnered.  All my iPAQ does is sit on my desk and give me a second reminder that I’m late for an appointment!

Then I was thinking that it would be cool to finally get that SD wifi card for it, and then I could download new caches wherever I can find a free wifi connection.

I was just cruising for caches and want to go NOW!  I just need ~$175 and instantaneous delivery…

One word

Amazing.

Get geeky, baby!

Everyone knows how I love my paid blogging and I’m always looking for new ways to make money.   When I found Geeky Speaky I figured I better share the wealth with my friends and readers!

Although, I’m not much into the tech world except for turning on my computer, checking email, blogging, and your occassional game of online speed - I do like to read about upcoming technology!

GeekySpeaky.com offers some great forums and discussion boards for bloggers and techies to share ideas, ask questions, and commiserate over the different tools used to make money on the web!   This is actually how I found out about PPP, Blogitive, LoadLaunch, and SponsoredReview.

Word of mouth, my friend.   Now I must pass on my knowledge.   Get geeky, baby!

Choose me!!

Our poor website.  After years and years of trying to get it be perfect with no broken links and great pictures of our kid we’ve sold our soles and started blogging!   Plus we’ve started worrying about the traffice we’re receiving.   We want traffic and this website has turned into something more than the family website that we once had.

Our main goal is to increase our search engine ranking!   CustomerMagnetism offers service that specialize in promoting and marketing websites.  They actually place your website in front of the public eye and contact companies like google and other big search engines to make sure that your website is on the top of web searches.

At some point we hope to really have a mixture of business and pleasure on the website - and it’s our page rank and blogging that’s paying for our trip to Cancun this summer!

Big brother is watching.

I’m constantly thinking about who’s watching my every move.   I’ve figured out the reason why all of the grocery stores have you sign up for a “bonus/discount card” is so they can track what you buy and your trends.     I must say - that’s alarming.   Not only does Wegmans know when I get my period, but they also know when I have gas.

Another thing that has me skeptical is surfing the internet.   I know there’s more to all of this than meets the eye and at this point (especially with Bush in office) we have absolutely no right to privacy.    That’s why I’m looking at getting a secure-tunnel.     It would allow me to search websites and look on the web without anyone else knowing what I’m doing or looking at.

It masks your IP and port number so you can’t be identified by websites or other people who might be trying to track your online movements.    It starts at $2.95/month and includes a free safebar.

It’s a scary world out there and you never know when someone’s looking over your shoulder.
