Well everyone will be happy to know that we got our new keyboard in Friday and Margot installed it instantly on our laptop.
So, I should have an easier time posting. You wouldn’t believe how hard it is to type without the A, R, and L keys!
Now we are closing the computer each time so that the animals don’t trample over it and take the keys off of our new keyboard.
This weekend has been really worrisome for us.
My parents are in Houston and I stayed glued to the television all Friday night and Saturday morning. I knew the storm was going to hit but you can never tell how much damage since it seems like the media always blows things out of proportion.
This time, however, I’m not sure the media did a great job of coverage. My parents are in Northwest Houston and it seems like much of the coverage was in Galveston.
My parents were hit pretty hard too. Trees were down, the power and phone lines are out, and their whole fence has been knocked down. Not to mention, trees fell on the neighbors cars and the whole neighborhood is in pretty bad shape.
I wish there was more that I could do from here. I missed a call my mom placed last night from my dad’s cell phone. She said they’re doing okay and that they have to keep calls down to a minimum because there’s nowhere to charge the cell phone and my dad is using it for work.
What a mess.
I just hope that they get assistance soon and that they can get electric and phone service back in a timely manner.

The dollhouse! We got this freebie from Craigslist, and have since been working on the renovations. Mommy has been bad and has not had the time to rewire the lighting. It’s currently AC with a transformer, I think I want to switch to battery for safety reasons.
Check out the photos of what we are starting out with (already half-painted):

It’s reaching all time freezing levels over the past few days. In fact, the reason why we stayed in New York Sunday night was because it was suppose to reach zero and I did not want to travel in that weather at night.
At some point I think we’re probably going to add a garage and family room upstairs. In fact, it might be in our near future since our house keeps getting smaller and our family keeps getting larger!
I think we’ll probably invest in garage heaters because it would cost way too much to add central heat to our garage. Plus, they’ve never been able to zone our heat. So if we heat one room we have to heat all of them.
GasHeatersOnline.com offers some great options when it comes to the different heating options. The website is easy to use and quite informative too!

Lately, Margot’s been complaining about our storage issue! The basement is a total mess and at some point we’re going to have to go through the baby stuff and start bringing stuff up and also putting some of Grammy’s toddler toys in the basement!
I might look into getting some tool storage for Margot. All of her tools are in total disarray throughout the basement and you can never find a screwdriver or a hammer when you’re looking for one.
Merry Christmas, honey!
