Today we did absolutely nothing! We were going to go to Lowe’s and pick up sandpaper, stain, and new knobs for our new piece of furniture that K&C gave us.
However, after Margot went to the grocery store and it was pure ice and dangerous we decided against the trip into “town”.
So we stayed at home and played “Super Mario Galaxy” on the Wii. It’s a great game and because it has so many different galaxies if we get stuck on one we open up another one and can come back later!
We also caught up on some television and a few “Weeds” and “Project Runway” episodes.
It’s sad that we pay so much for television and with the damn writer’s strike we have nothing taped but The Backyardigans and Tom and Jerry!
On the baby front, I did the doppler today and it looks like the kid’s heartrate has dropped (as expected) to around 147 beats per minute! When I did it for a second time today it was around 152bpm.
It’s interesting how it all works. Supposedly between weeks 15 and 16 is slows down a little bit. Last week it was around 165bpm.
Tuesday we have our midwives appointment and Wednesday I go back for the final bloodwork for the nuchal screening test. I should get the results for that back in 7-10 days. This whole thing is really dragging out! I’m sure everything will be fine but I wish I would have done the other testing so that I’d already know that everything was in good shape.

About 9 years back online gaming became pretty big. For Christmas Margot let me go onto one of the websites and play. Of course, I was given $20 and after I had blown through that there was to be no more money.
To say the least…I did pretty good. After an afternoon of gambling online and playing blackjack I had the $300 to go out and buy a new Sony Playstation 2!
Of course, since that time I’ve heard of online websites coming and going. Many of them have been shut down because they don’t get enough traffic and some have been shut down because they don’t have fair practices.
Now there’s finally a website that will give you the skinny on each of the online gaming casinos. When you look at a casino online you want to make sure to go to one that is reputable and has some big payouts. Plus, I always wanted to make sure that I was playing against other people and not just a computer!
www.pro360.com offers a website that actually ranks the different online gaming websites. It provides helpful feedback so that if you’re new to online gaming you won’t lose your shirt by going to an online gaming website that is unfair and unethical.
As far as my gambling days go….they are no more. I now have to save my money for binkies and diapers!

Lately, we’ve been heading up to bed and playing a game or reading to Grammy. She’s mastered the game of “Go Fish” and aside from us robbing her blind - she actually wins a good percentage of the time.
At some point we’re going to have to teach her to play checkers, chess, and backgammon. We figure if we teach her at a young age she could probably be pretty good by the time she turns six.
I have no idea how to play chess or backgammon but I was glad to find a good website that can teach me how to play the game and offer useful tips.
Check out this press release:

BackGammonMasters.com offers an awesome website that is easy to use and fun! Not to mention you can play with just about anyone. They also offer the website in twelve languages - including Chinese!

Backgammon is forever growing and if we don’t get Graem started early I’m afraid it’s going to be too late. It’s the same with piano, violin, soccer, softball, gymnastics, and chess…
I was actually shocked that when I called to enroll her in gymnastics class I was told that all of the 2-3 year old classes were full and she’s not officially on the wait list! It seems like everything involving kids and our area - we seem to get on the wait list!
Lesson learned….we’ve got to sign the new baby up NOW for all of the activities when he/she is two year olds!

I was so excited when Margot agreed to take me out to Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant tonight. We had the delcious Tacos Carne Asada with shredded onions and cilantro. We also got a fish bowl margarita and shared it. I couldn’t believe how big the damn thing was!
Of course, there were other tables who just stared at the drink and even a few comments made. We offered to let people stick their straw in but noone took us up on the offer!
I was able to drink about a third of the drink and Margot finished off the rest. Thank God I was the designated driver. We made a Wal-Mart run afterwards and bought three different games for Grammy.
When we got home we played all of the games and had a really fun time.
Why do I have to end up with the Old Maid?!?!

A few years ago we had a great game night at one of our friends. We had a great night and I even made out with some nice earnings! We used a kitchen table which didn’t seem so adequate and I’m thinking that our friend’s Mary and Elise should invest in poker tables for our next get together.
Of course, that get together was before we all had kids and stressful jobs! Maybe we just need to find a good babysitter to take care of the kids.
