Ever since Margot’s dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer and colon cancer we have been pretty active about educating ourselves and also getting checked. Margot went for her colonoscopy which showed a small polyp and that was removed during the evaluation.
Many men who have BPH suffer from an enlarged prostate. Many times it goes undetected because men don’t take the time to go to the doctor and get checked.
You can check out and compare the different treatments such as albatherm through one very important website: internationalhifu.com.
The website also talks about the features and benefits of HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) as a source of treatment.
All in all, you have to be proactive about seeking treatment for cancer before it is too late. We are starting to realize that even people our age can get cancer and it is best treated in the early stages.
Things sure do change when you have a kid and being aware about our bodies and the different diseases is an important part to staying healthy and living longer.
Of course, many people seek treatment, eat well, and exercize and still get sick. I guess when it’s your time…it’s your time.

Just a few weeks ago I went for my colonoscopy. I was put under and had a bit of discomfort during and after the surgery. They found one small polyp and they took it out immediately and biopsied it. Last week I received the news that the polyp was non-malignant.
Thank god.
I decided originally to get the colonoscopy since my dad was diagnosed with colon and prostate cancer. Since it runs in my family I decided to be proactive and get checked out.
Now, I’m looking into things to help reduce my chances of getting cancer and increase my chances of living a long and healthy life!
One thing that’s come to my attention is doing a colon cleanser. I don’t want to have to do the Fleet drink every time I want to get cleaned out! That way way too brutal. Dual Action Cleanse Now offers a great product that you can take pill form and feel like a new person!
This is an “As seen on TV” item and has many happy and pleased customers. Not to mention, people that have tried the product have claimed that they have “renewed energy, radiant skin and hair.”
That’s just what I need!

Margot’s brother is constantly trying to raise money for one of his marathon raises. Most recently he ran a marathon for colon cancer. This of course is now something that is near and dear to us so we made a nice donation.
It was one of the easiest things we could have ever done! I’m glad that non-for-profits have made giving easy! No longer do you have to pop a check or money order in the mail. Instead, you can give right online with your credit card or a check.
CMarket is one of the biggest and best sources for accepting online donations to your favorite non-profit organization. They offer a great website that has fundraising ideas for almost any type of charity looking to receive funding.
If you want to know more about online donating and fundraising you can actually enroll in their online seminars through their website. You can also see their featured auctions and items directly on their homepage.
Margot’s brother actually works for a big shot university in the city. His job deals with fundraising and among schmoozing with the top executives for donations I wonder if they’ve ever considered doing an auction on a website like CMarket. It might be the easiest and fastest way to have important people donate!

Today I went in for my annual mole check at the Dermotologist. It went pretty good and although I have over 2 million freckles and moles covering my body they all looked pretty good and none had to be removed.
Last year I had to have a irregular mole removed. The biopsy came back normal and so I make it a priority every year to get check out.
At some point, I really hope that they can come together as one and I can have a permanent tan!

Being that I was an Executive Director at an Assisted Living Residence for four years before Graem was born I still have an interest in information dealing with seniors and health care.
Since resigning to stay home with the baby I’ve done some healthcare consulting in the area and on a corporate level. I’ve been able to help people with nursing home placement, provide companion care, and even provide market research on assisted living.
With our parents and friend’s parents getting older it’s always been important to know what options are available. In Ithaca the options are easy. We have three nursing homes, two assisted living residences, and a handful of senior housing.
In New York City, where Margot’s dad lives, it’s a bit harder. There are so many different places for seniors and other people needing care that there’s no way to check them all out.
That’s why I’m glad I stumbled across The Gilbert Guide. GilbertGuide.com offers information on nursing homes, assisted living, adult daycare, and they also have a team of geriatric managers to help assist with the care of your loved ones. You can also take a detailed look at home care services in New York City.
What a great resource and I’ve already bookmarked this page for when the time comes and either us or a friend needs assistance dealing with their parent or loved one.
