A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

Archive for May, 2011

Hard times.

These days I’m pretty short on work clothes. Desperate times, ya know?

I can’t find a good pair of maternity pants that fit over the belly, are soft, and aren’t too long or too short.

The one place that has the perfect fat pants - Kmart.

I have these pair of black stretchy pants I got there a few weeks ago and they are so comfy. SO much room and freedom! In fact, I put them right above my belly and I’m home free!

I was going to pick up a few more pair and might even look for kmart coupons to help out! Either way, though, they are just $9.99!

Found a baby heartbeat!

Instead of renting a fetal doppler I decided to hop on ebay and just buy one. It was $55 and I figure once I’m done I can go back on ebay and sell it for $50.

Tonight I was able to hear a baby’s heartbeat! It was just for a few minutes before it fluttered away. The monitor said it was 170 beats per minute and it was on the right lower half of my belly.

Our next appointment is this Wednesday and the doctor will do an ultrasound and some bloodwork.

Summer is here!

We got in this evening and it’s HOT. It happened over night I swear. No matter what we try to do to make it cooler in here it’s not working.

I feel like I need to learn more about the different types of air conditioning units out there!

Our friends have offered us a big A/C window unit and I think I’m going to take them up on it! Next year…we’re getting central air. This is crazy.

Back in I-town.

We got back a few hours ago. We’re exhausted. There’s always so much to do when you get back from a trip. It was totally worth it though.

We had a great time with the Jasons and ate way too much. We also saw all of the sites. Margot and big daddy caught some geocaches and Emmy and I hung out at the hotel and caught up on naptime.

I’ve been really sick the past few days and typically the big barf happens a few hours after a meal. I’m trying to figure out foods that trigger. So far - orange juice and fried foods. Baby has been fine with Thai and Indian?

Get your date on!

I’m so glad I’m not in the dating scene. We have a few friends that are our age and single and they have such a hard time meeting normal people, much less a possible soulmate!

There’s a new website called Zyngle free online dating and it looks promising.

I’ve had friends go through a few of the big websites and have been so disappointed in the people - not to mention - they can be really expensive!
