A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

Gold!

Gold has been booming lately and I heard on the radio that it’s suppose to go up another 40% over the next year. Shocking. We have a friend who invests regularly on gold bars.

We were talking the other day about our get-rich plan and have decided that we’ve got to kick it up a gear. Either we need to make some smart investments while the market is somewhat low…or think about doing a rental property or two.

Corning.

Today we went to Corning. It was a beautiful day and we decided to leave good ole’ I-town. We went to the Corning Museum of Glass and Graem and we made a beautiful wind chime. Then we went out for INdian food at this Indian buffet that came highly recommended by one of our Ithaca friends.

We went to the Arnot mall and didn’t buy a thing. Couldn’t really find anything that suited us… Quite the different group there. Way too much plaid and camo.

Stroller time.

As you know I’m the professional on strollers. We had four strollers at one point and we typically relied heavily on the Maclaren. We had the Phil and Teds but I always wished that I had gotten the 2011 bob revolution! Not only were the colors better but the design looks more functional and they don’t have tons of recalls listed!

I wish Emmy liked her strollers more but instead she wants to be held. She’s gotten better about sitting in the grocery cart but still - my back aches!

American Idol - Episode 1

So last year I tried to blog after every single episode of AI. This year I’m going to try and do the same. I watched AI with my girls last night and Graem was asleep by 8:30pm and Emmy made it all the way til 9:45pm. Tonight, I’m making them sleep in their own bed and I’m going to watch AI alone!

I really liked the last kid that sang. I didn’t get his name but his story was great, poor kid from the Bronx, twin brother, not in a gang. We liked it. Plus, his voice was really rich.

As far as the judges. Not-so-sure. I think we’ve got to see more humor from all of them. I think Steven and Jennifer both hvae a lot of great advise but I’m not sure that they’re really giving good feedback. PLUS…I miss the honesty. When someone sucks…they need to know it and Simon was a stickler for telling them they’re horrible.

It’s over.

Well, despite being single parent in the afternoon I had a pretty good birthday yesterday! Margot brought home some roses and had dinner started before she had to head off to her meeting. I ordered a jacket and should be getting it in. YAY for wearable birthday gifts!

I also like some of the stuff that they have at Personal Creations. I found some great personalized gifts and from now on I know exactly where to go to buy stuff for the hard-to-shop-for person!
