A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

Archive for April, 2010

First class all the way.

Last night I watched an episode of Top Chef Masters. It is great to see the world’s finest chefs together, in one place and performing some of their famous dishes.

Each time I watch the show my mouth waters then I go to my fridge to find left over pasta and lettuce. Yuck.

When I was a waitress in high school we were given black aprons and had to wear black skirts and a pressed pinpoint oxford button down. It was a nice uniform and the restaurant was top notch.

I love the look of chef pants. Not only do they look comfortable but I am sure that they also are built for function too!

When I worked in healthcare one of my jobs was to manage the kitchen. I knew nothing about cooking - but I was all about chef apparel! I made sure that the two chefs that I had hired were dressed to impress in professional chef jackets and pants.

I wish I would have known about iD by Landau since they offer some professional and affordable cooking gear for the whole kitchen staff! The website is easy to use and within minutes I could have placed an order and had it delivered to my office!

TGIF!!!

I can’t say how happy I am that it’s Friday. This has been one heck of a week and it’s been dragging since about Tuesday.

Tonight we went over to our friend’s place for dinner. The kids played outside and we enjoyed chicken on the grill. Until it got burned. Then dinner was over and we just hung out and enjoyed each other’s company!

Danger.

Well, we got the quote in for the kitchen remodel. Dang!

They want $6,100 to do all of the cabinets. That doesn’t include the $5,500 for the granite countertops! Nor does it include the Progress lighting that we’d like to have installed.

Maybe our 1950’s kitchen isn’t so bad afterall. Maybe we should just install all of our new stainless steel appliances and call it a day!

Exhausted.

I really don’t know what’s going on with me. I’m constantly tired.

I wake up exhausted. By 2pm I feel like I could go take a nap with Emmy and by 10pm I’m already passed out on the couch.

For Christ’s sake…I even fell asleep during Avatar!

I have my annual ladies exam in the next few weeks and I think I’m going to talk to her about my lack of energy and being exhausted. I might see if I can get my blood and sugar levels tested too.

Any other suggestions?

Insure this life.

Since I have a pacemaker it’s a little harder getting life insurance. I called the other day to get a quote for health insurance and also got a life insurance rate.

It was about the same as I’m currently paying but I realized that it doubled the coverage that I have. Now I just have to figure out what my coverage is and make sure that I’m comparing apples to apples.

I swear they make these policies have different things so that you can’t compare them!
