A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

Sick again!

This morning we woke up to Grammy saying she had a belly ache. She came into bed with us then Margot ran into the bathroom with her. She had the scoots. After barely making it the first time we kept asking her if she had to go.

Sure enough…she did. A lot.

Then asked Margot if she could go again and she barfed all over the bathroom!

I was in such a sleep haze that it happened in slow motion and I just watched Margot clean up.

To say the least….we have a sick little girl who is lying down in our bed with no television.

It’s going to be a long day. Especially since we don’t have our washer and dryer up and working yet!

The wedding

The other day I was watching one of my Property Virgins shows on the HG network. It showed a happy couple just married and the husband was wearing a tuxedo vest.

Three years into the marriage they were looking for a home in San Antonio and had $130,000 to spend. They were shown AMAZING houses. All of which were 2,500 sq ft. and then some!

Of course, their complaints were that they didn’t like the room color and they also didn’t like the tan carpet in one room.

Get real, people. They should move to Ithaca, New York.

No sleep for us.

Last night was a sleepless night on Kay Street. It started when Emmy was crying. Then Graem started crying that she didn’t sleep at all. Margot ended up getting up and going to sleep with the girls. We have an idea that both girls got really cold and we should probably turn the heat up a little bit!

Right now Emmy’s taking a much needed nap after throwing chedder bunnies and refusing to take off her soiled cat shirt.

I’ve got to find another Crazy8 cat shirt out there! The girl is obsessed and god-forbid it get dirty!

What to do?

Our living room is a big rectangle. We have the television perched above the fireplace and bookcases on either side.

We have two couches and two end tables, however, we really can’t figure out where and how we want to put these in the room. At one point we had the couches touch and make an L. That made the room look cramped and not open at all.

Now we have the two couches each on a wall. It opens up the room but still looks weird. If I had my way we’d have home theater seating with comfortable couches that recline.

Unmotivated.

So I’ve hit a wall.

This morning I did the second coat of white on the door and windows. What a pain in the ass those windows are. UGH…they’re a million years old, have chipping paint, and the last guy painted over the hardware. Which means I’m doing the same!

Then there’s the scraping off of the windows and dried paint going everywhere.

Not that it’s done all I have to do is the two built in bookcases, hearth, and one wall of floorboards. Really not horrendous. But I’m exhausted and my back is killing me.

After this crappy part is out of the way I get to do the fun painting which is the yellow — and then I’m done!!!

With the living room.
