A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

The inner artist.

When I was in the first grade I won an award at school. It was for Nancy Reagan’s “Just say “no” campaign”.

I remember painting a giraffe eating pills and then my paint teacher came behind me and “modified”. She painted the giraffe throwing up the pills and wrote something to the effect of “Just say no”.

Brilliant.

Then my career as a first grade artist ended after receiving my award and I never came up with another brilliant idea after that.

I have a feeling that Graem might be the artist of our family! She’s constantly drawing and she’s really good! She is pretty stuck on the whole princess unicorn idea these days and most of the time she uses pink and purple. However, she’s not afraid to tell you that she loves all of the colors of the rainbow.

That’s why I was really happy to stumble across the AMACO/Brent website. They offer many different types of supplies for art, education, or just for play.

In fact, I have my eye on a pottery wheel clay for her 6th birthday gift. I think it would be fun for the whole family and I’m sure she’d love it. Not to mention, it is something that can be used by her little sister too when she gets older!

I’m sure we’d have to rely on our friend, Lydia, to teach us about sculpting compounds and other types of mold materials!

It might also make sense to purchase a set of texturing tools too. That way we can have everything we need to make the perfect piece of art!

AMACO/Brent makes it easy and fun to shop on their online website! Not only do they have a huge selection but their prices make American Art Clay affordable and fun!

American Idol - the Boys.

I watched AI last night and I must admit… I love Casey James. HOWEVER, I voted for the Latino guy Ramos at the end of the show.

I thought all of the guys up to Casey James really sucked the big one. Their voices were horrible. They all try to do this falsetto stuff and it sounds too girly man for my liking. (I like a man’s man, ya know?!)

Casey’s performance was good, not great though.

It’s pretty disturbing how the judges are treating the Kara infactuation of Casey James though. First off - she’s married. HELLO? Why is she having eyes for this man? Yes, he’s good looking. Yes, he sings good. But she’s taking it a little too far. You’re a judge and it’s your job not to be an idiot on television and around the contestants. PERIOD.

I liked Ramos’ because he’s a stay-at-home dad. Plus, he cries. I like that. He seems really sweet with his girlfriend and son. Plus, his voice is good and he mixes it up a bit. I didn’t care for the song that much - but I like him as an artist and don’t want for him to be voted off.

Casino!

A few years back when we went to Las Vegas we had a great time. Unfortunately, we were there trying to get pregnant and so we couldn’t do all of the fun stuff like gambling, shows, and good food. Did I mention that we also had an eighteen month old kiddo who was tagging along?!

I was able to hit a few tables and play some blackjack. I held my own at the MGM Grand and walked away with doubling my $50.

Then we went to the older casinos and I’m convinced that they’re all rigged. I lost my allocated gambling fund of $50 - all while supporting some of the best usa casinos.

I’ve had my go at usa online casinos when I was in college. In fact, I started out with $20 and by the end of the evening I had made the $300 required to go out and buy a new playstation 2. So that’s what I did!

Just a few days ago a Cornell student won 4 million dollars with online gambling! I’m sure it was a matter of having a system and a very lucky run!

If I were thinking of gambling again I’d want to look at an online casino gambling index that rates all of the casinos in order. It seems like there are so many out there and I can imagine a good portion of those just take your money without paying out.

CasinoGamblingIndex.com offers an easy to use website, updated on a regular basis, that can guide you to some of the hottest online gaming spots on the web.

Snow day!

Today we’re buried in snow. No school, no therapy for Emmy, no alcohol for mama.

Just.stuck.inside.

I took the girls outside while I plowed the driveway. It took us twenty minutes to get in snow gear and we spent 10 minutes outside. Emmy kept falling in the snow and getting “snuck”. After her crying and Graem going to her rescued we decided to play a game.

I was truckin’ with the snowblower and their job was to follow my steps. Emmy and Graem both loved it and when I was done Emmy refused to go inside!

Maybe I do have a couple of snow bunnies afterall?

Ripped off.

I just got off the phone with our local insurance agent and I know we’re getting ripped off. I haven’t had the time to shop around for better deals.

The last time I got free insurance quotes it took me weeks to get responses back and by the end of it I was more confused than when I started!

There were so many policies and I swear they make them confusing so that you aren’t able to compare apples to apples.
