A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

PMS?

So here’s some irony for you….

I’m on the birth control pill.

Laugh.

Laugh hard.

I’m an infertile lesbian who is using contraceptive!

When I finally started getting my period it was HELL. It was long, I had horrible cramps, and I was absolutely miserable. Not to mention the fact, that I could hardly leave the house without bleeding through my clothing.

So the midwives put me on Yaz.

I’ve been on it for a few months and it’s been great. I feel like it’s regulated my body in a way that nature couldn’t! The periods are almost nothing and just last a few days.

Of course, I still miss the prenatal vitamins that come with pregnancy! My nails and hair grew so fast!

Yeah, me too. Otherwise, I was in so much pain I couldn’t function, thanks to the endometriosis. But I don’t take the placebos with the Yaz. SO nice. Because of breakthrough bleeding, I stop taking it long enough to have a period a couple times a year (that’s been helping). So I’ve been mostly pain-free. Then, when I turn 51 and I’m not allowed to take it anymore, we’ll have to decide what to do next.
