A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

The word of the day is…

STONES.

I have gallstones and they hurt like a mutha. I went to the ER a few weekends ago after having a hell of a dinner at our friend’s house. It felt like my upper gut was about to pop out and I felt horrible. By 2am I was bent over in the bathroom and decided that it would be best for me to leave Margot home with the kids and drive to the hospital.

There I blessed the ER with my barf and they inserted an IV full of narcotics, anti-nausea, and belly meds.

Upon examination they were pretty sure it was being caused from the gall bladder and after the ultrasound the next day they were positive.

The next step is to meet with the surgeon Jan. 4th and discuss surgery.

I hope they give me good meds… I don’t want to feel a thing.

I had some great homeopathics that helped stave off attacks until I could have the surgery. Greenstar can help. I had my gall bladder out in Griffin’s first year. No one ever tells you that it is really common for women to develop gall stones after birthing a baby.

Take care!

Nora, it’s true! My friend, Sarah, had to get hers out when her daughter was 7 weeks old. These damn kids they mess up our bodies forever! Then again, years of eating crappy food probably didn’t help either ;c (.

I had mine out too, but prior to kids (at 25). It’s painful at first, but doesn’t take too long to bounce back. Good luck!! :)
