A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

Archive for November, 2009

Maybe it’s not so bad…

that my tummy has been bothering me!

I’ve lost about 12 pounds and each time I step on the scale I’m down another two!

Of course, I’m sure that once the problem gets fixed and my belly and appetite are back to normal I’ll start looking at weight loss products again!

Darnit.

Pain in the belly.

For the past two weeks or so I’ve been having some pretty bad stomach aches. Typically it’s after a heavy or spicy meal. It’s also been on the upper quadrant of my belly.

Today I finally made an appointment and was seen by the doctor.

It looks like I might have some weird acid refluxy type thing going on. They gave me some Zantec that I’m suppose to take once a day and that’s suppose to reduce the acid and stomach irritation.

Of course, if that doesn’t work then I’ll be referred to a gastro doc and have to be scoped.

Here’s hoping that the little pill works and I can keep eating my beloved spicy food!

Ghetto Dentist

I have a dentist appointment Tuesday. Every time I walk in the waiting room I’m shocked at the toothless people.

Do these people brush their teeth or just figure that teeth get in the way?

When I was in Texas there were tons of great dentists! Plano cosmetic dentist has been in business for years and has a very good reputation in the community.

I’m glad that my parents took care of the orthodontia when I was a kid because at the tune of $5,000 for braces I know I probably wouldn’t be able to afford it as an adult!

PLUS…I have two little girls that will more than likely need braces!

Kinda sad…

After our most recent vacation to California I really had a “come to Jesus” with myself and decided that two kids is PLENTY and maybe we should stop while we’re ahead.

I love my kids dearly…but I must say that they make me so tired! I miss having “me” time and even the small task of reading a book or magazine - never happens. It’s all about the kids 100% of the time.

When we got back in town I decided that I should probably start cleaning out the baby stuff and so the first thing on my list has been to sell of our cloth diapers on Craigslist. It’s been a total pain in the ass because I get quite a few people writing and interested and then they’ll buy like 2 diapers.

However, I’m not willing to give the diapers away because I spent a fortune on them!

Worse comes to worse and I’ll just put them up on DiaperSwappers.com and I’m sure they’ll go pretty fast. It’s just a pain in the ass to post, answer tons of questions, take better pictures, and then mail them out and pay the outrageous prices for postage!

Switched on!

When we moved into our house we tried to do all of the home improvement tasks that were least expensive and made the most impact!

To say the least we knew little about electricity and when the time came we had to hire an electrician to upgrade the system and to change some outlets. I started the project and after a few hours of no lights I had to make an emergency call!

I just noticed that a few of our appliances need new rocker switches and I don’t think I’m willing to take it on!
