A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

Archive for January, 2009

No move for us.

Well, it’s official. We’re not selling our house. AND…we’re not moving anywhere.

We had all but called a truck rental moving place because we had made up our mind that we were going to buy land and build a new house.

Friday Margot found out that they had to let go of one of her co-workers because there wasn’t enough work and with this horrible economy and no new business they needed to downsize.

Here’s hoping that the spring brings forth renewal and a better economy!

She’s suppose to do what?

I heard the other day that Emmy is suppose to be sleeping through the night. Uh, yeah, right?

The kid is now sleeping downstairs in her own bed but she’s still waking up 2-3 times a night.

To say the least…I’m friggin exhausted and I just wish I could have one night full of sleep. I’d even settle for 6 hours at this point.

Maybe when I’m in Houston my mom will watch the baby and put her back to sleep when she cries!

That time of year again…

for me to put on a bathing suit. I know, not a pretty picture.

In a few weeks I’m taking the girls to Houston for Spring Break. My mom has found a way to get us into a pool and I plan on taking both girls in for a nice swim.

What that means is that mama is going to have to get into a bathing suit. Eek.

Maybe I should look into Fentraphen to get those unwanted pounds off PRONTO!

Back on track…

It’s been ages since I’ve posted. I’m sorry!

We’ve been plagued with sickness and for once we’re all feeling better! *knock on wood*

Not much to report other than:

* Emmy’s crawling - we spend all of our time chasing her and keeping her out of trouble.
* Our house is on the market and *not* selling
* We’re looking at houses that are ugly.
* We want to buy land and build a new house but it’s pretty risky and we don’t know what in the hell we’re doing.
* I’m taking the kids to H-town to hang out with the ‘rents for Spring Break
* I’m a year older and my body feels it!

Here are some pictures over the past month or so.

An update on “Little Emm”

as Graem likes to call her little sister!

Last night we ended up staying at the Emergency Room of our local hospital from 2:30pm to almost MIDNIGHT. That’s almost 10 hours, people. To say the least…Mama was pissed.

But of course, instead of going crazy while waiting I slept.

They ended up running all kinds of tests, hooking her up to an IV for fluids and antibiotics, and checking her urine.

All signs pointed to a virus and they think it’s just a matter of the virus running it’s course.

This morning we had a follow-up appointment with her doctor and she wants to keep an eye on Emmy for the next 48 hours.

This evening it seems like the fever has broken a bit and Emmy even giggled tonight when we went out for dinner.

I just want my crawling and happy little girl back!
