A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

A day of rest…

Emm and I have been going so much lately.

Mondays we have our “Babies, books and bouncing” class at the local library. It’s for babies newborn - 16 months and it’s so much fun to do activities together and then after the babies play. Typically Emmy just watches the other babies and sometimes pulls their hair or pokes at their eyes.

Tuesdays we go for our weekly playgroup. Right now it’s really fun for the moms and I’ve made some really good friends. It’s so much different with this kid than with Graem. I felt somewhat isolated at home and we didn’t have any playgroups.

Today we’re just hanging out at home and I’m also doing some much needed housework!

The other day we went to Sears for professional pictures. The sitting didn’t go so good. Emmy was not very happy and Graem was pretty grumpy too. I’ll try to post the shots later today — Emm’s crying!

Losing weight?

So Margot stepped on the scale this morning and was shocked to see that she’s at an all time low. She attributes it to her eating less and moving a little bit more.

Of course, I think that it’s some fat burners that she’s slippin’ in her eggs in the morning!

Whatever it is…I’ve got to get the hook up and get some! I’ve stayed the same weight since 4 weeks post-partum and my breastfeeding diet has done nothing for me. I’m guessing if I actually wasn’t nursing that I’d be gaining weight due to the massive amount of food I consume!

On the go today…

We had big plans to join the rally on the commons today to support gay marriage, however, with the weather being crappy and two kids on the verge of getting sick - we’re going to do indoor activities!

We plan on heading to Cornell for a Harvest Festival and then to the woman’s hockey game.

We’re going to take Graem iceskating tomorrow and figure it’d be nice for her to see some girls on the ice this afternoon.

I think this spring I might look into horseback riding lessons. Grammy has always loved horses and the few times she ridden she’s been so graceful an in her element. Who knows, this time next year Santa might be looking at new english saddles!

Today’s agenda

I’m not going to post about Emm’s sleep because I feel like each time it’s going good and I post about it — it all of a sudden goes to shit! So let’s just say…we’re all sleeping and we have been for a few days now!

Today we’re going to meet up with S&I at the Sciencenter. Graem loves it there and they have a new Spin exhibit that is suppose to be really cool. I think it might be warm enough for the kids to play some on the outside part too!

After that we’re meeting L,J&W for dinner! We haven’t seen them in a while because they’ve been sick with colds. We’re very glad they’re on the mend.

Gotta run - little Emm is crying and needs to go down for her morning nap!

No viva Las Vegas for me!

The girls from my i-Village board are all meeting up in Vegas in February. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’re going to be able to swing it.

We’ve been to Las Vegas before and as much as we’d love to go and enjoy the sights and good food I can’t imagine trekking two kids cross country and I wouldn’t think about going alone.

At least we know of a good vegas hotel that we could stay in from our previous stays and experience if we were to change our minds.
