Trying to keep someone IN timeout

Friday fotos!

Last week I forgot about my weekly promise of providing photos so I tried to make up for it this week. We’ve been pretty busy this week with work, school, and painting the living room. But I was able to get a few cute ones this morning.

I’m going to have to work on getting more pics of Grammy!

We’ll have some good pics to share after this weekend and Apple Harvest Festival.

Say it with me…

“Desperate times ….

call for desperate measures.”

This morning we ran out of milk and God knows I just can’t have black coffee.

All we had was freshly pumped breastmilk in the fridge.

You see where I’m going with this, right?

It tasted exactly like my regular morning coffee and while I was sipping on my cup-o-Joe I was wondering if this could possibly be the new alternative for vegans (people that don’t eat meat or drink/eat dairy) or since the milk is from a living thing they would not drink it?

Rebuilding.

I was so happy to call my mother the other day and hear that everything was good in their neck of the woods and after almost two weeks - they have electricity!

Of course, she was busy doing 200 loads of laundry and 20 loads of dishes.

The main damage to their property from hurricane IKE was that their fence got knocked down. So they’re now looking at getting fence installation and rebuilding it from the ground up.

These hurricanes are really brutal. Not only are you anxiety ridden and waiting for the storm to hit…afterwards you’re left with a mess that can cost a lot of money.

Sleepless in Ithaca.

I’m so exhausted!

Last night we were sitting on our couch at 8pm. We had just started saying how nice it was that we could enjoy the evening with both kids sleeping bed.

Then all hell broke loose!

Emmy started crying and Graem woke up. All within one minute of each other.

Margot stayed upstairs with Graem and I worked on feeding Emmy and quieting her down. G finally went to bed but Emmy was a different story. She was awake at 10pm and when we were ready to go to bed she was still fussy.

Finally, I ended up bringing her back downstairs because she was screaming bloody murder and waking up Margot and Graem.

After singing various country and Christian music to her (don’t ask) she finally went to sleep on my chest - on the couch.

At 2am I had to pee so bad and knew if I moved she’d wake up too. So I just laid in bed. Thank God I heard Margot coming down the stairs to go to the bathroom. She took E and we worked our way upstairs.

Then this morning at 6am Margot’s alarm clock goes off so that she can get dressed and leave for her early meeting.

Of course, Graem realizes she’s not there and wakes up too! Then….you know who wakes up. Yes, Emmy.

So to say the least…we’re an exhausted family.

I’m starting to realize that this goes in waves and typically every third day is a rough one. I think by day three of the rotation we’re all exhausted and it’s the best night sleep ever.

*yawn* Off to get Graem ready for school pictures today!

We’re a green family!

To say the least we’ve become quite aware of the food we eat and products we use and the effects it has on our environment and bodies.

We’ve started eating mostly organic fruit, vegetables, and meat. We’ve also been using cleaning products that are more natural and my all time favorite - cloth diapers!

So when the holidays come around I might be interested in giving eco gifts! Don’t be surprised if you get your gift and it’s a bundle of sticks or a new potted plant!
