Just a few quick seconds..
to post some precious smile pictures!
Happy Monday!!
it’s a pimple located on the tip of my nose.
Really, it’s quite embarrassing to have zits when you’re older than twenty!
I’ve thought about acne treatment cream but I really haven’t looked at the side effects and I’m trying to stay as drug free as possible when I’m nursing.
I have a dermatologist appointment in a few weeks and more than likely he’ll bring up my acne and maybe he can give me some natural remedies.
We’ve done pretty good over the past week putting little Emmy into her co-sleeper but the past few nights haven’t been so great.
She’s been pretty crabby and every time I try to make the big transfer from our bed to the cosleeper she wakes up and screams bloody murder.
So, being the suckers that we are…she’s in bed with us.
That’s right, two mamas, two kids, a dog, and a cat…all in one king size bed!
On the bright side, at least we don’t have to wash crib bedding!
It’s hard to believe that Emmy is almost 7 weeks, and Grammy seems more and more like a little girl, and less a toddler.
I can’t remember when the baby talk ended and real sentences started, but I still hang on to the little baby nuances that Graem has: “mine arms,” “you’re taking for a long time,” “lellow” instead of “yellow.” It’s fun to hear how Graem process ideas that we’ve told her. I explained to her why she had to be gentle with Emerson’s head, about how she still has a soft spot and the bones in her head haven’t grown together yet. Graem explained to a friend that she had to be extra careful with Emmy’s head because “when she’s a baby, the bones are at the bottom, but now that I’m a big girl, the bones are at the top.”
We had a whole discussion at Chinese Buffet about how Mama didn’t know Mommy when Mommy was a little girl, but she was there when Graem was a baby. Graem also mentioned, “When I was a baby, Mommy had the milk, but Mama didn’t, but now that Emmy’s a baby, Mama has the milk and Mommy doesn’t.”
I feel like I’m missing out now that I’m back at work. I’m exhausted too–we woke up at 3 am when Emmy was awake and chatting, so we turned the lights on and just stared at her as she smiled and stuck her tongue out at us. Her smiles are getting bigger and more frequent every day, and they seem more intentional! She’s almost starting to laugh–grunts, really–but it’ll be any day now that she giggles.
I guess I should try to get an hour more of sleep before *sigh* work…
This morning when I woke up I had the greatest view.
I instantly had to grab my camera.
She’s been smiling for a while but I’ve never been able to get a good shot.
