Yesterday was Emmy’s eight week old birthday. It’s really gone so fast. I wish I could freeze time and have her as a little one forever.
She’s still sleeping quite a bit during the day and she’s doing great at night too. I think what’s helping is that every night she takes a warm bath with Grammy and me. It seems to calm her down a bit and maybe adds a little bit to our nighttime routine.
The past few nights she’s been nursing later and only waking up around 4am and 7am to nurse. She’s also been sleeping in her co-sleeper which is an added bonus for me because I don’t have to worry about rolling over on her.
Emmy is a very smiley little girl and has even been giggling if you tickle her under her chin. She loves playing peek-a-boo too.

We kept so busy that I’m pretty exhausted! We really tried to take advantage of the hot and beautiful weather.
Saturday morning Margot took Graem geocaching. I met up with my friend, Jen, from my old job and we enjoyed burgers at The Pines.
Then the family met up and we went swimming. Emmy went into the pool for the first time and it actually looked like she enjoyed it! I was so worried that she’d poo and then it’d be all over and we’d get kicked out of the pool. Thank God she didn’t poo in the pool and the cloth diaper held in all the pee pee.
After swimming we went to Jen and Terry’s wedding reception. We had a great time and it was nice to see some old friends that we hadn’t seen in a while. Plus, it’s always nice to see a new happy couple together. We wish them the best.
Sunday - Margot and Graem woke up early and let Emmy and me sleep in. By the time we woke up they had already mowed the grass and cleaned the floors in the kitchen and bathroom. We finished up the house, laundry, and went to the swimming pool again.
We ran into two different families from daycare and Graem played with her friends David and Anya. Before we realized it we had been there for almost four hours!
We then went to Best Buy to pick up a camera for the computer so that we can do Skype with grandma and grandpa. Surprisingly, the picture is great and after a while the sound was pretty good too. It’s a great way for us to keep in touch and for them to see the kids on a regular basis.
We also stopped by Wegman’s and tackled the grocery shopping. We can’t believe how expensive food is these days. $225.00 later and we just stocked up on essentials - not including meat. AUGH.
This morning was hard for Margot to leave the house. Graem was pretty upset and I had to bribe her with some WonderPets!
Now I must go finish up laundry, work on getting the cloth diapers together, and get dressed! We’re doing some errands with L&F!

Yesterday I went down to the basement and it’s in total disarray. I was looking for Graem’s bathing suit from when she was six months old. I saw three rubbermaid bins that were labeled 6-12 months but couldn’t bring myself to go through all of them.
I’m shocked to see that we still have moving boxes from five years ago when we moved from an apartment! I have no idea what’s even in the boxes but I figure since we haven’t used it in so long that it must not be a necessity!

It’s interesting to see how things have changed over the years. When I was overseeing accounting operations in my prior positions they consisted of looking at pages and pages of spreadsheets.
These days there are more effective software sources out there. In fact, cpm is a term used to describe corporate performance management.
It just makes sense that a company go with a system that is easy to use, economical, and clearly tracks progress.

I got a total of three hours sleep last night and as I’m writing this I can honestly say this is the most tired that I have ever been!
We actually went to sleep pretty early and by two o’clock I was about to kill Margot because she was snoring like a bear. I yelled, pushed, and then I just gave up and sat up in bed.
By 2:15am when Emmy started stirring around for her morning meal I changed her and took her downstairs. From there I made my couch into a bed and surrounded myself with the comforter and pillows. Emmy nursed for 45 minutes and then fell asleep at 3:00am.
Then I was up again at 6:00am for another feeding! I’ve been up since then.
Margot actually took Grammy to work with her so that I can get some sleep but I just can’t seem to unwind now.
Can we say over-tired?
