When I was the Executive Director for an assisted living residence I constantly got calls in the middle of the night with resident issues. Typically, it was that a resident fell, broke their hip and was going to the emergency room.
However, there were times when the nurse, myself, and doctor would be contacted and all of us were trying to figure out a medical solution for a specific situation. Many times I had to look online for the medications that were being given to see if they had any side effects.
Unfortunately, if was out and about I didn’t have access to the information and had to ask one of the aides to look up the information in the PDR.
I’ve just found out about medical PDA software that allows you to view medical information online. You can actually use your PDA to get up-to-date information.
Medication information on the go — life is getting easier!

I really can’t believe how fast time has gone by. I knew it would but this is outrageous! I wish I had felt better the first week or so. However, I’m assuming that’s just part of giving birth and not feeling quite up to par.
Emmy has quite the attitude and I knew what I was getting into because she was pretty much a wild woman in my belly! I knew those games of prod would cause her to have anger issues and hope that she doesn’t have to go through too much therapy to work through it!
Emerson has started smiling a little bit and she scrunches her nose and eyes and it’s so funny. Most of the time a smile is followed by a loud screech and then an even louder cry. But I’m stickin’ with my initial assessment…it’s a smile, damnit.
The girl is held all of the time. I hate seeing her sleeping in her crib because I know that it’s going to go too fast and I want to be a part of every second. Plus, she’s so cuddly and loves snuggling in on my boobs and tummy.
I remember when Graem was smaller. In hindsight, I always wished that I had held her more, played with her more, and not have spent so much time on the computer or watching television.
So this time, I’m going to try to do this with no regrets.
I apologize now for the lack of updates, pictures, and other ramblings…but…there are things that are more important these days!

We started getting packed the other night for our trip to Houston.
I have to admit I’m a bit nervous about traveling with you-know-who. Her screams are enough to make you jump from a ten story building and I’m afraid that other passengers on the plane aren’t going to appreciate them as much as Margot and I do!
One thing we’re starting to do is look at travel guides for the Houston area so that we can find fun things to do for ourselves and for Grammy.

for our laptop computer!
It’s really been through the ringer and we’ve thought about buying a new one. Margot has her eye on a new Linux machine. Since we’re not big fans of Windows Vista and it keeps poopin’ out on us we’re trying to find something that will allow us to email, surf the web, and do some document stuff.
I guess there is always an Apple…

I think it could be the childbirth but my body has never felt older!
A while back when we visited Margot’s dad he told me after I had the baby that he’d “fix me right up.” However, I don’t know if plastic surgery is going to fix this old girl!
I might need to think about another solution like anti wrinkle cream. I’ve noticed that with this sleep deprivation that I’m getting bags under my eyes and my smile lines are more obvious than ever.
