A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

You know I love to…

make money blogging!

I must admit, though, it’s been a while since I’ve received any good offers or felt passionate enough to write about certain topics.

A few weeks ago I was contacted by Zack from ImaginAds.com and he popped me an email about blogging for his company. It’s a start-up company and seems to have some great ideas and business goals. After talking to him on the phone and corresponding via email I was happy to sign up.

Sign up was easy and within minutes I had enrolled our website. The great thing about ImaginAds is that you can set your own price for what you’d like to receive. For example, I set our price at $10 per post. Therefore, any company who wants me to write a post pays a premium to ImaginAds and I get my $10 cut!

The advertiser simply states what they want in the ad and then give information about the product and link information.

Advertisers really like the idea behind targeted audiences too. They can go to the ImaginAds website and see the different blogs that can write for them. Obviously, our blog is geared towards women, mothers, and family. So, a company choosing our blog would more than likely want our demographic in a targeted audience. Advertisers simply log on, then they can put whatever website they want to into their “cart” and check out with the click of a button!

All in all, blogging has been a great way for me to be able to stay home with Grammy, make a little extra money, and it’s also helped us save for our annual vacation fund too!

Cohosh schmohosh.

The cohosh did absolutely nothing and I have absolutely no faith in the herbs at all.

This morning we took the guys to the farmer’s market and did tons of walking around and eating. It was tons of fun and I’m glad they love good food as much as us!

We also went to The Commons and walked around. We went to the bike store and Graem fell in love with a Marin 16″ bicycle. It was quite funny because we liked the bike that was purple and white with flowers and Graem loved the bike that was gray and obviously the “boy” model!

I’m going to look around and see what other bikes are out there and at some point I think we might get her a nice one. We figure if we go for the nicer model then both kids will get to use it.

Two words.

Blue Cohosh.

We picked up the vial of Blue Cohosh from L&L. They used it when they were 38 weeks pregnant and within 12 hours L’s water broke.

I’ve had two doses and my first one was at 2:30pm.

So far…nothing.

Now it’s time for bed.

Another day with no baby in sight.

I’m starting to think maybe there’s not a baby in there afterall and I’ve gained 40 pounds purely on chocolate cake.

Still huge.

Pregnant.

A little action, please??

So for the past 36 hours I’ve noticed that PDB hasn’t been moving about like she typically does. (Knocking the crap out of me!) Most of the time I prod her in my belly and she kicks back instantly. That was the deal we made pretty early in negotiations when she first implanted. I just needed to know instantly that she was okay and she agreed — which in turn, let her go back to being a lazy baby and sleep without being prodded further.

Over the past few days I would prod and she’d reply with a very sluggish, barely felt kick. I realize quarters are probably tight in there and she can’t bring her leg back like she used to!

Last night Alex came in from Los Angeles and it was so great to see him. He gave me hell about carrying five babies and I in turn flashed him my belly and boobs numerous times. He was horrified and has reaffirmed his gay man membership.

So after my massage this morning and still not feeling many kicks (only a few contractions) I called the midwives. They were great and said that I could come in at 1pm for a non-stress test. Basically, it monitors the baby, activity, heart rate, and contractions.

Instantly when I was hooked up to the monitor PDB started going crazy and kept kicking off the sensors! Her heart rate went up to around 160 or so and then after a few minutes of being rebellious went back down in the 130’s. During the fifteen minutes or so on the monitor I had one good contraction.

Again, the midwife gave me the homework of “going into labor.”

I’ve really tried EVERYTHING.

I’m thinking about getting some of the blue cohosh and trying it tomorrow afternoon when Dominic gets here! I would love for the boys to be here for the labor - only if it were that easy!
