This morning we woke up with not many plans other than me going for a massage.
When I was on my way down to drop Graem off at Margot’s work for my noon appointment I heard that The Backyardigans are in Syracuse and doing a performance of “The Mighty Nights.”
For anyone that has followed Graem and her addictions you’ll know that she LOVES The Backyardigans and I had always promised her that if they come to a town close to us I’d take her to a live performance.
Well….we’re going. That’s right - 39.5 weeks pregnant and the whole family is going to Syracuse tonight to hang around thousands of naughty kids who missed nap and smell like pee to watch The Backyardigans.
I can hardly wait!
We figure there’s nothing like spending over $100 on tickets to get my water to break, RIGHT??
This morning I woke up and could barely walk. I’m guessing PDB has decided to lower her head a little bit more into my pelvis.
So today…I’m at 39w2d.
I’m still feeling really good and no complaints! I feel healthy and aside from the 40 or so extra pounds I’ve had plenty of energy and been able to do everything that I did pre-pregnancy.
My sleep has gotten much better too! I wake up refreshed and my hips aren’t hurting like they used to. I’m starting to think that my body has gotten used to the baby weight and position.
I’m going this afternoon for my weekly massage and I’m pretty excited! My massage therapist is so good and each massage is such a treat.
I might try to reschedule my midwives appointment for Monday so we can get things started one day early!
Last night I was pretty sure I was going to see some action.
We had dinner with L&J. Afterwards I had copious discharge and some not so pleasant feelings down under. I also had some good contractions on the drive home and after my bath.
However, at 10pm I was exhausted and drifted off to sleep.
I did wake up a few times to pee and had contractions but nothing major.
Margot’s taking Graem to school today and I have absolutely nothing on my agenda. I might go to the commons and walk a little or even go to the library. I do get contractions and strong pulls when I move around so I figure it’s probably allowing gravity to do it’s part.
Okay, it’s a bad sign when I’ve seen many of my cycle buddies (from my I-Village boards) who were behind me pop their kids. I’m extremely jealous!!!
We had a nice little test run at the hospital over the weekend. I did the blue cohosh and within hours I was having contractions within 3-5 minutes. Went to L&D and the contractions all of a sudden stopped and then were consistent at 10 minutes apart. I was sent home after a few hours and told to come back when I’m in “real labor”!
Today I had a midwife appt and it went pretty good. Margot narc’d on me and told the midwife about the herbs. Wench.
I’m 80% effaced, 0 station, and 1 cm dilated! The midwife thinks the baby is now between 7 1/2 and 8lbs. Of course, my big fear is that she’s going to be 12 pounds when she finally gets here. The midwife reassured me she didn’t think that’d be the case and they aren’t going to let me go past 40.5 weeks. Somehow though this timeframe keeps getting moved back! Last week they said 40 weeks. Hmpf.
So…I think I’m about done with this pregnancy thing and I must admit…my maternity clothes that were not so flattering before are really indecent now and on the verge of being obscene!
I’m starting to think that instead of being pregnant I’ve just consumed way too much cake over the past 9 months…
I’ll have to take some belly shots to illustrate my point.
