A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

39 weeks and counting!!

Okay, it’s a bad sign when I’ve seen many of my cycle buddies (from my I-Village boards) who were behind me pop their kids. I’m extremely jealous!!!

We had a nice little test run at the hospital over the weekend. I did the blue cohosh and within hours I was having contractions within 3-5 minutes. Went to L&D and the contractions all of a sudden stopped and then were consistent at 10 minutes apart. I was sent home after a few hours and told to come back when I’m in “real labor”!

Today I had a midwife appt and it went pretty good. Margot narc’d on me and told the midwife about the herbs. Wench.

I’m 80% effaced, 0 station, and 1 cm dilated! The midwife thinks the baby is now between 7 1/2 and 8lbs. Of course, my big fear is that she’s going to be 12 pounds when she finally gets here. The midwife reassured me she didn’t think that’d be the case and they aren’t going to let me go past 40.5 weeks. Somehow though this timeframe keeps getting moved back! Last week they said 40 weeks. Hmpf.

So…I think I’m about done with this pregnancy thing and I must admit…my maternity clothes that were not so flattering before are really indecent now and on the verge of being obscene!

I’m starting to think that instead of being pregnant I’ve just consumed way too much cake over the past 9 months…

I’ll have to take some belly shots to illustrate my point.

Yes, please amuse us with belly shots while we wait. :-)

LOL!! re: come on baby get out! Although it’s been forever for me, I can definitely relate.

Hope you are in L&D and we are reading a birth story very soon!

(((hugs)))

I was in the same place last summer waiting for the arrival of my daughter and it was soooo hard. I did the cohash, the raspberry leaf tea, the nip stim(that part was fun) and still, she came at 41 weeks, ugh. I was so excited to finally meet her it was killing, so were my feet lugging the giant belly around. Here’s wishing you a healthy bebe, a healthy mama, a smooth delivery and a wealth of health, happiness and all that you dream of for your family. Keep us posted.
