A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

34 weeks!

The time is flying by now. Of course, my to-do list keeps getting longer and longer! I think that each night Margot keeps adding things to my list. The last thing being “Have a baby.” She figures as long as I have things on my list…I can’t have the baby!

Not quite sure if it works that way.

I’ve been feeling pretty good. I must admit that I love being pregnant and I’m going to miss it when little girl actually gets here! It’s amazing to feel her moving inside of me and each time she twirls or kicks I know how fortunate I am to be able to experience this.

That’s one thing that infertility has taught me along the way. Treasure every moment and never ever take your children for granted. In fact, when Graem was born - her birth was such a miracle and so emotional it’s something that I know I’ll hold dear for the rest of my life.

(Can you tell I’m overly hormonal these days?)

I have a midwife appointment in a few minutes and I have a few things to bring up including:

1. Hemorrhoids - ew.
2. Cankles and sausage fingers
3. Thyroid
4. Pressure down under
5. How’s baby laying in my belly?
6. How big is baby?
7. Cervix check - ouch.

Margot’s going to be on the road for out of town meetings so we figure we should get a gauge on what’s going on with Emmy to make sure she’s not trying to get out early! One option was for me to travel with Margot but my tolerance and patience these days is pretty limited and I’m not sure that sitting in a car would be too good for my circulation issues.

Graem’s getting excited about seeing her little sister. She talks about her constantly and last night we had a conversation about bunk beds and how she would sleep on the top bunk and Emerson would sleep on the bottom. She had a great time at the sibling class this weekend at the hospital and it was a chance for her to see a real newborn baby in the nursery and see the room where I would be delivering and staying.

Here are some belly shots. Yes, the belly keeps getting bigger and I think at this point it’s gone up as much as it can and I think it’s started extending horizontally now!

Now that’s a serious buddha belly!

Only 41 days. Yikes.
