Graem just started drawing people in her doodles, and I love how they look like little potatoes! She draws potatoes for each of us, and points out who is who. She’s also started writing her letters–they’re so tiny and deliberate, she tries so hard.

Every night PDB goes wild in my belly. Of course, I try to get Margot to come over and the minute she does and lays her hands on my belly the baby stops kicking and punching.
Saturday when we were in the car going to swim lessons she got to feel a pretty good kick while I was driving!
Last night little Emmy was going wild and I told her to come over. Of course, I was feeling it most in my belly button and you can get some major kicks if you stick your finger inside my belly button!! (Totally bizarre, I know.)
So Margot stuck her finger in there and sure enough - BAM! Then another kick!
It was great to see Margot’s face light up and also reassuring that I wasn’t going nuts and making up that the baby was kicking me!

I know in the past we’ve had an old car and we’ve thought that we might donate car.
However, after researching it and calling our local non-profits we found out they didn’t want our old, working car!
CarAngel.com provides a non-profit website where you can actually get information on donating your car. They use the funds to provide videos for kids and teens.
If you’re interested in purchasing a car you might want to look at what CarAngel.com offers too!
It could be a win-win situation for you and/or your loved ones.

As mentioned in the earlier post - we went to Rochester this morning for our level two ultrasound and to meet with the Perinatologist. I absolutely love Strong Health Medical Center. The facilities are new, the staff are so nice and helpful, and I’ve always received top notch care there.
In fact, it’s the same hospital I went to when I had my pacemaker installed three years ago.
So we get to the ultrasound lounge and I check in. Margot said that one of the other pregnant ladies was checking out my belly! Then we started talking about having “belly envy”. She asked if I checked out other bellies and I replied “Of course, I do!”
In fact, sometimes I’m like “God, that’s a nice belly” and I must admit that it seems a bit dirty at times. I like the perfectly round bellies but I certainly don’t have belly prejudice.
In the middle of our conversation our nice ultrasound girl, Jennifer, comes in and asks a series of questions. She also asks if we want to know the sex. We reply quickly “Yes, we’re dying to know it.”
So she starts the scan and PDB is bouncing everywhere, arms up and down - then she starts waving at us. First she uses her right hand and waves, then she uses her left hand!
Here’s a picture of her profile and her waving at us. You can also see her legs bent at the knees on the right side:

Here’s another picture of her face from the side. You can see her forehead, nose, mouth, and chin.

PDB had grown quite a bit since our last ultrasound three weeks ago. Her head was bigger, arms, legs. Plus, when she moved around I could sure feel it! She gave me a few swift kicks to the bladder and I thought I was going to pee everywhere!
Here’s a picture of her big foot that keeps giving me a swift kick to my left side:

Throughout the ultrasound Jennifer kept trying to find out the sex of the baby and he/she kept her legs closed. There were times I swore I saw a weiner and no balls. Then I’d see three lines indicating a girl. So by the end of the ultrasound and various attempts she apologized and said that maybe the doctor would have better luck.
Dr. Pressman walked in and was really nice. She asked a few questions about my heart condition and then reported that everything looked great so far and the measurements for the baby were right on. She then did all of the measurements for the heart and also saw how it was beating.
She said everything looked perfect and I asked her if I was able to stay with the midwives and she didn’t see any reason why I couldn’t.
As I was getting dressed Jennifer (the ultrasound girl) came back in and said she figured out the sex of our baby - did we still want to know! We both said “YES!” At that point I said “I saw three lines, it’s a girl” and she said “Yes, you’re right!” She said she never guesses unless she’s 100% right and she went back and looked at our session with her collegues and they all agreed that we’re in fact having a baby girl!
The money shot:

It was so nice having a definate answer and knowing that we’re having a girl instead of being in limbo land! Of course, we’re happy as clams knowing that our little one is healthy and growing perfectly inside my belly - we still don’t want to meet her for another 14-18 weeks though!

I’ve been stalking a few websites lately. One is Flotsam and I’ve been visiting her website ever since I did a search on “pregnancy symptoms” and realized I was having the same ones as her. She did IVF, had miscarriages, and was two weeks ahead of me.
So her website has been somewhat of a guide to “what to expect next” during my pregnancy journey.
Last week she posted that she lost her son Ames at 22 weeks and 3 days gestation. They found this out by going for a routine ultrasound and saw that Ames had stopped growing and no longer had a heartbeat. Of course, it was heartbreaking to say the least. Anytime someone loses a baby, much less, one that has been so long in the making…
Since that time her goal was to reach 24 weeks so that her other twin (daughter) Simone could grow and develop. She was able to make it to the 24 week mark last week which gives the chance of “viability” at 85%.
However, this morning she started having contractions, her water broke and now she’s in the hospital giving birth to both of her children - one a live, one not.
Hearing this news was quite upsetting this morning as I read it before we were off to Rochester for our level II ultrasound. All I could think of was how scared she must be and how I wish her daughter is strong and survives. Please send your prayers and thoughts to their family.
As we were leaving our street I realized that the trashy guy (who is maybe 25), lives two houses down, drinks, parties, has the cops at his house weekly, kills neighborhood cats, has two kids already (2 different mothers) - has a pink, blue, and white balloon on his mailbox. I’m guessing once again - he’s procreated.
It’s horrible to know that people who so badly want to be parents and do everything to have a healthy child are having such a hard time and others that don’t take the responsibility seriously can mass produce.
Life is really unfair.
