A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

I love pens!

At one point we used to have tons of pens floating through the house.   Of course, we can’t figure out if Graem has hidden all of our nice pens or we’ve since lost them.

Just the other day we were at a doctor’s office and they had some of the nicest advertising pens I have ever seen.   Of course, since they were so nice I wasn’t sure whether they were for the customers or just for you to use to fill out your check!

So I ended up not taking one.    When I go next time I might actually build up enough courage to steal one!

Amazing.

We all made the trek up to Syracuse for today’s ultrasound (8 weeks and 4 days, for those of you who are counting).  We individually made our rounds to the bathroom, and when Graem and I got back to the room where Shawna was placed, the LPN informed us that we were being released to the real world.  We were both pretty sad.

Then Dr. K came in, to our surprise, to do the ultrasound.  They have one of those brand-spankin’ new 2D/3D ultrasounds, and you could tell he spent the extra time to show us all around the little one, hear his/her heartbeat (167bpm!), and see 3D video.  Shawna asked him whether he thought it was a girl or a boy, and without hesitation, Dr. K definitively stated, “It’s a girl.”  Maybe the Dalai Lama whispered a little something into his ear a few weeks back!  Graem sat on the edge of the table to watch, but was quickly bored.  We told her it was her little brother or sister.  Dr. K congratulated us again and bade us farewell, until next week.  Shocked, we were granted one more week with the fertility center!

When the lights came on, we were also pleasantly surprised to be handed the DVD of our little show!  So here it is for your enjoyment.  BTW, we love our fertility center.

Tomorrow’s the big day.

I’m getting pretty nervous about our 8 week ultrasound tomorrow.   I’ll actually be 8 weeks and 3 days!

I’m excited and scared of what we might see.    I just hope that everything is measuring right where it needs to be and the little guy’s heart has started beating a little faster!    Supposedly, he now has four chambers and it’s suppose be faster than our last ultrasound.

If he’s awake he might even be moving around.    Someone said that their baby looked like it was “humping the air”!

Hopefully, our baby will just be moving his arms and legs.

NO HUMPING.

Are you covered?

With a new baby on the way we’re constantly thinking about how we can protect our family.    One way we’ve thought about covering things is to increase the coverage we have with our life insurance.   Right now Margot has term life insurance and her father has paid the premiums for years.

We also have individual policies.

With all of the insurance premiums we are paying you’d think we’d get some kind of discount!   Instead, we’re shelling out almost $700 - $800 a month on insurance!

No going back!

I’m talking about when Margot had a truck! It was so nice when we went out and had to buy something. Most times we never worried about actually having room in the truck because there was always more than enough!

In fact, it was funny because when she had the truck we rented an apartment and never really used it for anything important.

Now that we have a house that actually needs some repairs - we got rid of the truck.

If we were to ever get a truck again we would invest in a truck rack.  It just makes sense to have more places to put things.

BuyAutoTruckAccessories.com offers a great and easy to use website where you can find just about everything for your truck!

Come to think about it…we’d need a 4 door truck these days and enough room to pack two carseats in.
