A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

Archive for August, 2007

Too dark.

I’ve been going back and forth on what to do for more lighting in the living room.   I could probably add a ceiling light, however, the room is somewhat rectangular and so I’m not sure what type of figure I would put in.

Currently, we are just lighting the area with a floor lamp and a table lamp.   However, it’d be nice to have a ceiling light that we could flip on instead of having to walk over and turn on a switch.

Sick again.

Well, it’s official.   The family is sick again - minus Graem.  We can’t figure out if this is from her daycare and two weeks ago or if this is a new sickness that is going around.

Either way, Margot and me have it pretty bad.   Last night we were coughing and blowing our nights while watching television.

I actually went to the doctor Tuesday because I wanted to get all of this cleared up before starting my infertility meds.   She gave me a prescription for Zithromax and I’ve been on that for a few days.   It seems like it’s cleared up the infection but I still have the cold.

At some point I think I should probably start thinking about taking nutritional supplements.   What typically happens is that we end up getting sick and then try to load up on vitamins.   If we were on a low dose of vitamins in the first place maybe our immune system would kick in a little quicker.

Stronger Nutrition offers a full line of supplements at really great prices.   Their website is really easy to use and they even offer a special section for Immune System supplements.

I think I should probably get some of the Heaven and Earth Vitamin C that promotes immune function.

Better late than never, right?

Turn on your LED Christmas Lights!

Each year we bring up our Christmas bin and realize that we’ve lost a few of our prized Christmas lights.   Of course, we had just picked up the cheapies at Target one year.    When they end up dying we don’t put too much time into trying to figure out and just throw away the whole bunch.

Last year we had a beautiful tree, however, the top part was missing Christmas lights since we never replaced the string that we lost!

I think we might want to switch over to LED Christmas lights.    They are so much brighter and vivid.   Not to mention, the best benefit is that they are extremely energy efficient.

You know we’re all about saving energy and the earth around there.   We’re avid recyclers, we got rid of our big gas guzzling SUVs for mini-cars and now we can save the world by changing our Christmas lights!     Not to mention the savings that we will see on our electric bill during the holiday season.

LED Christmas lighting can be purchased through a great website that has a lot of great options - HolidayLEDS.com.   You’ll find the website easy to use and they have just anything and everything you could ever want to make your holidays festive!

A sight for sore eyes.

Today Graem is at daycare and I have tons of blogging that I should catch up on.    I’ve already mowed the grass and tried to put our new grill together.

It was quite the sight though…I was in my pajama boxers and shirt, barefoot and under the carport.   I had to make about 20 trips to the basement to get the different tools I would need.

After I unwrapped all of the parts from the box I realized that I was missing all of the screws.    After cursing and looking for ten minutes I realized I had almost thrown them in the recycling pile.

The directions specifically said that it would take 30-45 minutes to construct.

Just so happens that it took me 35 minutes to get everything out of the box, find all of the tools, and find the damn screws.

Then the fun part starts.   I have to put the rollers on the bottom.   Not a problem.

Now putting the cart together gets a little tricky because you have to screw in screws while making sure to hold up a panel at the same time.

All I can say is … I’m glad I have long toes because they really hooked a sister up.

I finished the cart and realized that in order to put the grill on top of the stand you need two people.   So it’s all laid out in the carport and I’ll just have to wait til Margot gets home to do that part.

All in a day’s work.

Press Release! Read all about it!

It’s bizarre how the whole idea of press releases came up.   I’m guessing it’s some guy who said I have some great news to tell the world but advertising is way too expensive.    I think I’ll devise something to help me get exposure without having to pay to get the word out.   Hmm…maybe I’ll call it “Press Release.”    That has a nice ring!

When I worked as a Marketing Intern for a chemistry testing place I constantly wrote press releases and sent them away to publications in hopes that they would get published.    A few did.    However, I really didn’t know how to get the best out of press release optimization.

Most people don’t.   That’s why you should leave it to the professionals who know all about press release distribution and press release submission!    SubmitAWebsite.com is all about putting your business in lights and getting the word out there.     Whether it’s in press release form or advertising they have an easy to use website and work with the customer to get them just what they are looking for.
