Trying to keep someone IN timeout

The perfect card.

We have quite a few credit cards and each one has it’s own “perks”.   Of course, the bum deal about them all is that you have to pay them back at some point and there is no “free money!”

When I started my business I opened up one card that was designated as my “business credit card“.    I put most of my business expenses on it and it was easy to track.   It really made doing taxes a cinch too.

Consumers.creditnet.com offers a great resource for people who are looking for new credit cards, credit repair, or a way to see credit card company reviews!

The most important part about credit cards is that you are informed of the terms and know what you’re getting into before you sign up for the card!

The mall.

Today we went out to the mall for our afternoon entertainment.   We had to take back videos at two different Hollywood video stores too.

At the mall we walked around and looked at toys, grills, and digital photo frames.

I wasn’t really sold on anyone one brand of frame.   They all looked about the same and they only had Kodak, Poloraid, and Westinghouse at the three stores I looked out.

We enjoyed a pretty good meal at Wendy’s and Graem was really well behaved aside from getting side tracked in the arcade!

Our loan.

Well, we’ve been dragging our feet on actually going to the bank to sign our loan.   We figure the longer we can draw this out the longer we can take advantage of the 0% interest that we’re getting from the credit card!    Plus, we won’t have to start making payments.

At some point I know the bank lady is going to tell us to get in or else we could jeopardize losing the loan (which is at a great rate) all together!

When we were looking for loans we made sure to compare loans and really shop around.   There are so many different options when looking to borrow money and it was really a lot easier to get our hands on $20,000 than we thought!

Of course, many of the personal loans that we looked at started at around 7% and went up.    So we knew that was not the route we were going to take.

Since we have great credit we also didn’t have to worry about going the route of secured loans.

One website that helped us look at the different loans and rates was:   http://www.thriftyscot.co.uk.    They offer information on just about everything financial!

On the go!

The past few days have been quite busy for the family.   Yesterday we went on a road trip and were able to do a little shopping and we even picked Margot and Grammy up some nice clothes.    Of course, I was lucky enough to get two new bras.   (The small celebrations in life, right?)

Today we’re going trying to get things together before we head out to family reunion in a few weeks.    I think we’re going to buy Margot’s dad either a digital picture frame or a smoker!    Not quite sure how we’ll come up with the $200+ for the digital frame but it sure is a great idea and I think he’d really enjoy it.

Plus, how often do you get to celebrate a 60th birthday?

Home theatre

Our home theater system is on the fritz.   Just this morning I was watching television and it all of a sudden started buzzing loudly.   It was almost like a fire alarm had gone off.   Our DVD/Home Theatre combination has been on it’s way out for some time now.

We purchased it years ago when we bought the television and we thought that getting a named brand, Pioneer, would have helped it last a little longer!

The Sony home theatre that we have upstairs and got for around $100 is working perfectly!   In fact, the sound quality is great and we’ve never had a problem.  I wish we would have gotten two of them since we knew that our downstairs theatre was dying.

If you live in Houston then the place to go for furniture and home theatre is Gallery Furniture!    Gallery furniture offers a huge showroom full of just about anything and everything you could ever want for your home furnishings.   I remember traveling through Houston and seeing the big tents where Gallery Furniture sets up shop and has all of their big sales.

Gallery Furniture also offers custom, leather, theatre seating!   We’ve always talked about adding on to our house and building a big family room with comfortable theatre seats and a big screen television and home theatre!
