A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

I love my girl…

Though I’m totally ambivalent about family bed–I love being able to snuggle Grammy, but the pee-soaked bed in the middle of the night and not having snuggled Shawna in about 2 years and 3 months cause great conflict–the other night something happened that made me love it more.

I was trying to get Grammy to go to bed a little earlier (stupid me), so I laid down with her and Tasha (from the Backyardigans–we didn’t spawn another one, or get another wife) and her baba.  AFter she was done with baba, Grammy tossed and turned trying to get comfortable.  Finally she settled in with her back to me, and I wrapped my arm around her and held her belly.  I asked, “Do you like it when I hold you this way?”  Grammy said “Yes, spooning.”

How cool is that?  Stupid pediatrician.

When we get a garage…

we’ll probably need a garage door opener.   God knows, I’m going to have a hard time getting out of the car when it’s 5 degrees outside and snow up to my elbows!

EasyGates.co.uk offers some great garage door openers at really reasonable prices!   I like the fact that you can compare different models on their website and they believe so much in their product that they even offer 2, 3, 4, and 5 year warranties.

Chamberlain who is the market leader in gate automation has introduced new Chamberlain Liftmaster 24v remote control electric gate openers. This new gate comes with battery back-up which provide power to operate the gate due to power failure. It is also comes with optional solar panels installed, batteries can be powered to drive your gate opener. This gate opener kit is one of the most advanced on the market today!

Try visiting Easygates for electric gate openers and garage door openers.

Life is good…

I’m sitting in my favorite recliner with a beer in one hand and my computer in the other waiting for Margot and Graem to get home.

Tonight we’re having hamburgers, french fries, and green beans.   L&L are bringing over dessert and should be here any minute.

I’m so exhausted though and after this beer I could easily fall asleep!

Take off those sexy scrubs.

That’s a saying that you never hear!

Even a few years ago when I worked in healthcare some of the scrubs I saw were tedious.   Most of them were the boring blue but every once in a while a nurse would walk in with ugly flowers or tweety bird.    Yuck.

They now offer some great scrubs that are not just comfortable but have really cool designs.   In fact, you’d never even know that they are medical scrubs!

I used to have a pair years ago and they were so comfortable.   I think my roommate in college ended up stealing them.

Check out healthcarebeware.com now for great deals on scrubs and right now they have free shipping on Dickies Scrubs!

Our next step.

So we’ve decided to no longer pursue the infertility insurance thing.   I got my last letter of denial yesterday and after crying for an hour…I decided that I just hate feeling this way.    I have such anger and hatred towards Blue Cross Blue Shield and although I feel that their actions are so unjust — I just can’t fight the battle.

So, we’ve decided that I’ll do a few clomid cycles over the summer using Margot’s brother as our sperm donor and we’ll reevaluate in the fall.

In the meantime, we’re going to try to get me put on Margot’s insurance.   Through them I would get infertility medication covered and 6 Intrauterine inseminations covered.

Or we might move to the donor embryos in San Diego.

It’s all just a wait and see…I think at this point we need to just focus on one month at a time and pray that it works.
