A question mark, because we weren’t quite sure for a little while. Out of nowhere (literally, because neither Shawna nor I are sick, and we haven’t been out of the house or near anyone sick in days!) Grammy started coughing, a deep, dry, hacking cough that sounded like she was forcing herself to cough. Which meant we thought she was faking it. Last night I even told her to stop coughing, lest I get out the “orange medicine,” (Albuterol) which she hates. She stopped…
Then it started up again this morning. She was grouchy getting dressed, and refused to eat, neither of which is highly unusual. We got to school early, and she was a little clingy, but was appeased by the purple playdough and cookie cutters. Then at around 2:45 I got the call. Daycare never calls us, and even when Grammy is sick, she’s usually in good spirits. Julie told me that Grammy didn’t really nap, was really wiped out, and then started crying for Mommy–that broke my heart. She never cries for me at school! So I immediately got off the phone with her, and got on the phone to call Shawna. She didn’t pick up her cell, but I was able to find her on IM. She quickly dropped everything to go rescue our girl.
Fast forward two hours later, and I get home to find girl on the pot, pooping her first tiny poo into the potty, and Mama complaining and passing the butt-wiping duty to me! Post-poop, Grammy was singing and dancing, jumping up and down and not coughing. She was fine through several more trips to the potty, bathtime, and tickle time.
We just took her temp a few minutes ago, and she is running a little warm–100.3. I just dosed her, and I think she’s fallen asleep. Sounds like it’ll be a low-key day of recuperation tomorrow…

A video I found on TokyoMango:
I know nothing about Cornelius, but the music sounds pretty interesting. The video, however, makes me wonder how the heck they did this!

Thank God! Finally, a website that provides information and services for the gay driver! Gaywheels.com offers a full service website that gives you information on Gay Friendly Companies, information on New and Used cars, reviews, articles, price quotes, information on insurance and financing.
Gay Race Car Driver on Gaywheels.com also spotlights the great GAY Nascar Driver, Evan Darling. In a world full of Nascar — I’m so glad that there’s someone brave enough to be themselves and out of the closet! Evan, you’re a brave soul! I don’t know which one is more courageous…driving for Nascar or being “out” in Nascar?
The website also have a list of out gay and women who would like to help other gays and lesbians with their automotive needs.
We always like going through “family” for many of our purchases. Typically, when we’re going on vacation we make sure that the place we are visiting is “gay friendly”. The gay and lesbian community in Ithaca is pretty tight and we really try to use our friends services and support their businesses as much as we can.
Now, it’s nice to know that there’s a website out there that can help us choose a car dealership and other automotive professionals that know how to deal with our family!

I am always looking at where we spend our money. We spend a huge portion on housing. I realize that mortgages are something that I should be gracious for and in 13 more years we will have our house paid off. So I probably shouldn’t complain!
Since we are almost debt free with our credit cards this will be one of the first months that we will have that extra $1,000 or so to put towards our savings accounts. We depleted Shawna’s savings and retirement when we made the decision for her to stay home. So we’re really trying to play catch up.
A huge portion of my salary also goes towards insurance! Car insurance, life insurance, home insurance…together we pay about $400 per month just to be alive and to own a house and car!
In the past we’ve used secure loans as a means to help us out financially and I’m sure that if we decided to do work on the house or even remodel we’d more than likely go that route again.
NationsFinance.co.uk offers some great information on car insurance, secured loans, savings accounts, and credit cards. Their website is easy to navigate and might really be able to help you make a wise financial decision!

Tonight Graem was coughing and almost to the point to where she was gagging. I’m not sure if she’s actually coming down with something or if she likes to attention she gets from being sick! The second she coughs she says “red medicine.” That’s the cough and cold medicine we’ve given her in the past.
Tonight when she kept coughing even after I gave her the medicine I told her I was going to give her the orange medicine (Albuteral). She then said “Orange medicine yucky” and stopped coughing.
I think I might have a faker on my hands!
