Trying to keep someone IN timeout

Time to work it off

Now that it’s the new year, we’re all thinking the same thing: it’s time to lose the weight gained from all the holiday binging. I’m regretting a few steaks, cheese, potato chips, lasagna, hollandaise sauce–you name it. While I’m not a big fan of dieting, I do believe in weight training and overall fitness.

Shawna and I have been talking about getting a gym membership, but I found that the only way I can force myself to go is to do personal training with a trainer. It worked for me in the past–I would meet my trainer after work for about an hour and do some aerobic work and some weight training. I really did feel better when I was doing it, and lost about 10 or 15 pounds.

While I would rather breastfeed as a quick way to lose weight, it’s about time I got myself into shape–and Wii fitness doesn’t count! It’s totally lame–but I get winded playing. And my elbow has been aching since the day we opened the box! My Wii age has dropped dramatically, which only means my fingers and wrists have gotten stronger.

Ahh, the joys of being in your thirties–every chip goes straight to your arse.

I think I’m ready…

to really move on.

I was thinking about it today and I’m so ready to be pregnant again.   Despite going through hell these past few days.   The 14 days that I was pregnant were so joyous and happy.   I remember just feeling my belly, talking to it in the car, and knowing that there’s someone in there.

I know that come August when my due date time comes around it’s going to be very hard to see newborns.   But I really hope by that time that I’m pregnant again.

We talked a little bit today about doing something on the due date August 23rd.   At least for the first year.   Maybe even just a family picnic outside under the magnolia tree.

Now, we just wait for the bleeding to stop.   Then in 4-6 weeks I should get my period.   Then we’re ready to go again.   I know it’s soon…   but, I so badly want to be a mother and now I know the joy that pregnant women feel — and I want that again.

My button’s bigger than yours!

When I was growing up buttons were the new “in” thing!    Of course, now I see them coming back!   Just last week I was at the commons and among tons of bumper stickers (that you see in Ithaca) I also saw a lot of funny buttons.

Of course, I love all of the somewhat feminist buttons that are a tad bit offensive.   But I can’t say that I would ever wear a button!

I must admit that when I was in High School I did have a George Bush button that I wore religiously during the elections.   (I’ll blame this on my southern/Texas upbringing?)   I was quite the devoted mini-republican at the time and even though I couldn’t vote - I found it my duty to wear that button on my RED blazer!

Now you can actually purchase your own Button Maker for use at home or work!  Buttonbiz.com is a distributor of button making machines.

If I owned a button machine I’m not really sure what they would say — but I’m sure I’d come up with something somewhat witty and would spark a thought of interest among readers.

Of course, knowing me — I’m always looking for a way to make money so I’d probably try to turn into a capitalist venture!

Now wouldn’t the Republicans be proud of me now?

Happy New Year.

This New Year has already started off much different than I ever thought it would.   A few weeks ago I thought 2007 would bring us a new life.

Yesterday, I looked on CNN.com to find that they had hung Saddam Hussein.

The life of one man very sick man is taken - while the life that we started out of love couldn’t muster up enough strength to start up a heartbeat in the womb.

I really do feel that everything always happens for a reason and I pray that 2007 brings us happiness, health, and a new baby.
