A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

We have a Wii!

YEAH!!!   I’m beyond happy at this point.

Today was starting to be a pretty shitty day.   We didn’t get out of the house til almost 11am.   I lost this part of the rebate for a camera Margot’s dad gave us - then once I had found it (45 minutes later) realized the rebate had expired.

I decide that we should go to Target and check out toys and then I had to pick up some knitting needles at Jo-anns.

Target didn’t have any good toys - ie.  No TMX Elmos.   So, I decided to check out the video games knowing that they wouldn’t have any PS3s or Wiis.

I actually caught myself having a conversation with myself about them having the wiis.   Then I saw it - the Wii!   I didn’t know if it was the actual game system or empty boxes in the showcase (some places do this).   So I went to the sales person and asked if they had Wiis.   He said they just put them in there about 2 minutes ago.

I told him I wanted one.   So, I purchased mine.   Then there were two older mom-types that asked if that was “the wii”.   I said “yes” and they ended up getting one too!   I went to the car and called Margot to see if I should buy more to sell on E-Bay.   She checked on E-Bay and they were going for close to $500 so she said yes.

By the time I had gone back to the store they have 6 Wiis left.   I told them I wanted 5.   Then they had to call the manager.   Supposedly, there’s a max of 1 per “guest”.   So, I told the manager that “my daughter should be considered a guest too.”   He said that they meant “household”.   I asked him to show me where it said that.   By God, the man pulled out a brochure that stated “A woman and her five year old son are considered one guest.”  BAH!

So, after that and they sold the three Wiis - they instantly took them off the shelves!   I guess they weren’t suppose to go out til Saturday or something.

I was so darn happy that I had to celebrate!   Plus, I had a coupon for $10 cash back of a purchase of $99 or more.   So I used the coupon and had $10 burning a hole in my pants!

Thank God, Jen Schaus was able to join me for lunch to celebrate Wii success!

Now, I’m just waiting for Margot to get home from work took hook up the system and play!

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
