A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

Back from the doctors

Well, everything is right on course.   I have more than 10 eggs/follicles that are just waiting for their counterpart.   Boy, I hope that I don’t have lesbian eggs!

I was also told the bad news that insurance would not pay for the conversion to IVF.   Which, in my opinion is ridiculous.   They require me to do these injectible inseminations - then when my body reacts to the drugs and produces mad amount of eggs (to the point of being unsafe) Blue Cross Blue Shield won’t take any responsibility.

We pondered for about 3 minutes going ahead and going forward with IVF so that we could limit the amount of embryos that could possibly attach…but we just can’t afford to do that at this time.   It would cost approx $4,500 and with me home again — just not do-able.

So, tonight I take my Ovidrel (HCG shot) and tomorrow morning at 9:00am we go in for our first of two inseminations.   Thank God Graem has daycare and so it’s just me and Margot and I don’t have to worry about Graem sliding around on the doctor’s floor.  (Right where they do the inseminations.   EWWW!)

I feel so bloated I can literally only eat a few bites and my bladder is feels so squished I have to go to the bathroom every 2 hours.   Not to mention the good ole jeans were a bit tight this morning.

Tomorrow it’s stretchy pants!
