A Tale of Two Mamas

Trying to keep someone IN timeout

Hire me?

A few weeks ago I sent a resume for a part-time administrative job that would allow me to work from home.

It sounded like a great job and even offered benefits. Of course, I’m sure that I’m one of three hundred applicants.

You’ve got to love a college town where phds are applying for minimum wage jobs!

I’m sure when things calm down with the economy that there will be more options and I’ll start to look more seriously once we’ve moved and I’ve found a good daycare or school for Emmy to go to part-time.

It’s ours.

We got the house!

YIKES!

WE GOT THE HOUSE!

The deal was squared away about a week ago. We had the inspection done and asked for some concessions. He gave us $1,500 in credit and our real estate agent and the seller’s agent conceded some too. That way we were able to meet half way and go forward with this house!

To say the least…we’re excited! The house needs a lot of work - but it’s in town and we’re excited to fix up another house!

Right now we’re looking at granite and tiles for the kitchen! Hopefully, when we go visit my cousin in May we’ll be able to stop at the Ikea and pick out cabinets!

Insurance.

This upcoming week I have to call around and try and get home insurance for our new house. We currently go through State Farm. However, we have a strong feeling that we’re getting gouged! We go through them for term life insurance, home and car insurance and despite their little discounts here and there we’re still spending a fortune and don’t feel like we have the greatest insurance.

Not to mention, I think we’ve only talked to our agent twice in the 13 years we’ve been using him!

Love at first dial.

So I know I’ve posted before about wanting to get an iphone.

Well, we’re the owners of two beautiful baby iphones. We got them a week or so ago and we’re in love.

Some days I don’t even get on the computer at all because all of my emails, blogs, and websites are viewed through my phone! Not to mention, I’ve been able to have quite the social life because I get all of my emails when they are sent and don’t miss out on anything exciting!

I also was able to get the hookup and found a website where I got the USPS worker 25% off at At&T!

PMS?

So here’s some irony for you….

I’m on the birth control pill.

Laugh.

Laugh hard.

I’m an infertile lesbian who is using contraceptive!

When I finally started getting my period it was HELL. It was long, I had horrible cramps, and I was absolutely miserable. Not to mention the fact, that I could hardly leave the house without bleeding through my clothing.

So the midwives put me on Yaz.

I’ve been on it for a few months and it’s been great. I feel like it’s regulated my body in a way that nature couldn’t! The periods are almost nothing and just last a few days.

Of course, I still miss the prenatal vitamins that come with pregnancy! My nails and hair grew so fast!
